PHOTO PHOTO DESCRIPTION: PHOTO 1977 STORAGE SIDINGS CONNOLLY RAILWAY STATION THE DUBLIN & DROGHEDA RAILW EXTRA INFOPHOTO 1977 STORAGE SIDINGS CONNOLLY RAILWAY STATION THE DUBLIN & DROGHEDA RAILWAY ESTABLISHED A SMALL FREIGHT YARD TO THE EAST OF CONNOLLY (THEN CALLED AMIENS STREET) ADJACENT TO PLATFORM 1. HOWEVER FREIGHT TRAFFIC MOVED TO NORTH WALL YARDS (ON THE RIVER LIFFEY) IN 1877 THE AREA AT CONNOLLY BEING GIVEN OVER TO CARRIAGE STORAGE. CI 121 CLASS BO-BO NO. 122 SITS IN THESE SIDINGS WITH METROPOLITAN VICKERS BUILT BO-BO NO. 214. BEHIND 122 IS A FORMER BR MK1 CARRIAGE CONVERTED TO A BRAKE GENERATING STEAM VAN BY BREL IN 1872. THE REST OF THE COACHING STOCK LOOKS TO BE VEHICLES SUPPLIED BY CRAVENS LIMITED OF SHEFFIELD IN 1963-64. 122 WAS WITHDRAWN AND SCRAPPED IN 2002 WHILE 214 WAS WITHDRAWN IN 1985 AND SCRAPPED IN 1990.
