Firstly, please note that the clarity and black/white (or sepia) contrast is better than it appears in the photo(s) here.

I am auctioning off a few of my duplicate and spare Isle of Wight railway STANDARD POSTCARD SIZE black and white (and sepia) images (sorry you won’t find any of the Adams 02’s here as they are of too much sentimental value to me).

A few of these images might be quite rare, as I have had them for at least half a century now and in all cases have forgotten were I got them from now. If this listing isn’t one that you want then please check out my other listings, as there may be something there that you are looking for.

All are in pretty fair condition despite their age, but may have a little age yellowing to their rears.

P&P is 99p and will be well packed.

THIS LISTING IS FOR A BLACK & WHITE REAL PHOTOGRAPH OF ISLE OF WIGHT CENTRAL RAILWAY BEYER PEACOCK No.8 AT VENTNOR TOWN (LATER BECAME VENTNOR WEST). IT APPEARS TO HAVE DRAWN FORWARD FROM ITS TRAIN AND IS ABOUT THE RUN AROUND THE STOCK, WHICH CAN JUST BE SEEN IN THE PLATFORM. THE LOCO IS LETTERED I.W.C. AND IT IS OBVIOUSLY BEFORE THE 1923 SOUTHERN RAILWAY ERA. THE LOCO SURVIVED UNTIL 1929.

THE PHOTO GLOSS SURFACE IS A LITTLE TARNISHED NOW, WITH VERY MINIMAL DISCOLOURATION IN EACH CORNER, WHERE THE PHOTO MOUNTS USED TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.
