LMS SIGNALS BOOKSTANDARD SEMAPHORE SIGNALS & SIGNAL BOXES

A 1st edition hard back book published in 1972 by Oxford publishing company.
This book is in a very good clean condition(Other railway books are amongst my other sales)

A very detailed and interesting book with written chapters of the LMS signalling division over 60 pages with 52 black & white photographs and numerous lined diagrams in the signalling section and a further 24 photographs and drawings in the signal box section, please look at the 3rd gallery photograph for books content.
The condition of the book is good and clean with no pen or pencil markings on any of the pages, there is a small tear and a section missing on the fly leaf cover (as can be seen on the 1st gallery photo) but this does not affect the overall condition and enjoyment you will find this book can generate. The book  measures approx 11″ x 9″ (29cm x 23cm) and weighs 542 grams.

This auction is on behalf of the Worcester Locomotive society in raising funds to restore our 85 years old ex Stewart & Lloyds, Manning Wardle designed Kitson Industrial locomotive, 5474 “Carnarvon” which is at present on the South Devon heritage railway at Buckfastleigh, Built in 1934 the society purchased the locomotive in 1969 transporting it to the Severn Valley railway at Bridgnorth where it worked for a short time, to the Bulmers railway centre, Hereford in 1970, then when the centre closed in 1993  to its present base, the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh which has a seven mile line running to Totnes alongside the River Dart.
The locomotive is at present undergoing a major overhaul, we hope to get her steaming in either the year 2020 or 2021, by bidding on items we list you will be helping us achieve the restoration of this locomotive, Thank you.
