Offered here is a lot of ten (10) buttons, three (3) large and seven (7) small, all marked “Railway Light Power” along with the words “Reliable Service.”
Found at an estate sale in Portland, Oregon, these may be conductors’ uniform buttons from Portland Railway Light & Power, formed in 1906. Research indicates that “Portland Railway Light & Power (PRLP) was created in 1906 through the consolidation of nearly every transportation and power generation utility between Vancouver, Washington and Salem, Oregon.” It was called the biggest merger in Oregon history.” It became the Portland Traction Company in 1930.
The larger buttons each measure 1″ in diameter. Each shank has a double loop ring attached to it.
The smaller buttons each measure 1/2″ in diameter. Four have the same loop attached to the shank in the back. Three have a cotter pin through the shank.

One button has green residue on the front. No other damage to the buttons.
