Here we have a set of THREE absolutely beautiful colour prints of four steam locomotive engines manufactured by Hick Hargreaves of Bolton. These will make a great present for a train or Fred enthusiast, they look beautiful when framed and hung on the wall as a set of four.
Hick Hargreaves was a massive Victorian factory built in the 1800’s based in Bolton and Fred was always visiting the factory because he was fascinated by the engines they produced and the skill of the engineers that worked there, Hick Hargreaves were commissioned by Robert Stephenson ( inventor of “the rocket” ) to make steam locomotives for the American railroad when it was first being set up, if you look on wikipedia you will see lots of history about Hick Hargreaves.
Most of Freds main workshop where his steam engines were housed ie. the big doors, windows, and roof came from the Hick Hargreaves factory.
These prints are beautiful and show four of the engines they produced
print no.52 shows 2-2-2 Locomotive for Edinburgh and Glasgow railway (1847) print no. 0-6-0 shows 2 pictures of goods engine “CHESTER” for Birkenhead, Lancashire and cheshire railway (1848 )print no. 64 shows 2-2-0 inside cylinder Locomotive, chester and Birkenhead railway ( circa 1850 )
These three beautiful full colour prints come unframed and look absolutely fabulous when framed and displayed on the wall as a set, the prints are all A3 size and can be bought ether as a set of three or I will be listing them individually They measure 23 1/2″ x 16 1/2″
These prints are a beautiful collectors item and will make a great present for a railway enthusiastThey will come safely packed rolled within a protective sleeve.
