Vintage Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad Belt Buckle
I don’t know when this belt buckle was manufactured…CB&Q ended in 1970 when Burlington Northern was formed. I do know this was purchased prior to 1995 and its very possible this was made in the 1980s based on knowing the owner and his link to BN. I haven’t seen too many of these. This was worn. This belt buckle is in good condition and is fully functional. However, it was worn and does have some wear. The outer rim was gold in color and there are areas that have worn to reveal some of the silver in color metal underneath. The middle section, where the logo is set in relief, is silver in color and it has some wear. There are also some minor scratches here and there. From a distance, a person won’t really notice but you can see the flaws up close. I’ve said it before, your friend must be a very close friend to be closely examining your belt buckle while you’re wearing it. See photos and enlarge. However, as I earlier said, I haven’t seen too many of these out there so it is not common.
