I have a large collection of mixed railway photographs to be listing over the next few weeks. They are all genuine photographs, most with copyright stamps on reverse, please see the image of the back of the photo for details of copyright. Any details written in the title about the photo are taken from the photograph and are not personal opinion.

ARE THE PHOTOS ORIGINAL/OLD/GENUINE?When ever I list and sell photos I am always asked the same questions, which do leave me a little confused. I appreciate that some of the photos are much older than others, but none are new, I’m not printing them or or developing them myself. As far as I am aware almost all these photos are reproductions, (well I guess in reality ALL photos are reproductions), some are of the 1890s and reproduced in the 1960s, others are from the 30-40s and reproduced in the 1950s, some are from the 1920s and reproduced in the 1980/90s. Some are reproduced from the original negative at the time or just after the photo was taken, others many decades later, others are photographically reproduced from another photo. I am currently going through one man’s collection that he amassed over many decades and they cover all years railways have been photographed, any date on the title is from when the original was taken, the photo could be from any time. I am not listing any that are clearly digitally printed unless highlighted, but these are very few and far between. The age of any one particular photo is mostly judged by the back of the photo so please pay particular attention to this. If there is a particular image you wish to have a more detailed opinion on please do ask and I will try and answer as best I can.
