Southern Railway System A Pictorial Album Washington to Atlanta, 1960-1982 by Douglas B. Nuckles and Curt Tillotson, Jr. Four Ways West Publications 1996 ISBN: 1-885614-09-8 The author’s goal with this book was to present a trackside view of Southern’s diesel powered freight and passenger trains as they traveled the main line from Washington, D.C. through Virginia and the Carolinas. This book covers the final 22 years of Southern’s existence before it merged with Norfolk & Western Railway in 1982. Hardcover, 160 pages including magnificent photographs.
This book comes from a private collection – smoke-free home. Cover shows wear, soiling, and fading from age and use. The interior is in very good condition with no apparent markings. Binding tight and intact. This is a USED book and sold AS IS.
