Very interesting piece of history from 1986. Sunday 23/03/1986, the day before the official re-opening of the Bathgate Branch in Scotland to passenger trains after closing in 1956. This is a professionally framed photograph of preservation society steam engine No 673 Maude: configuration 0-6-0 making a lot of smoke. She is running on the then newly designated bidirectional line in the Down Direction just passed the 25 1/2 mile post going towards the new Bathgate platform at the 25 mile post. If you look closely then you will see that the rail is Flat Bottom jointed but it has just changed from Bull Head which was manufactured in 1952. The closer line had then become the bidirectional Freight Line. Also included is a blank commemorative ticket for the following day, Monday 24/03/1986. This was the official opening day. Commemorative Programme included! All packaging used will have been recycled. If you wish the picture unframed, let me know before paying and I will send the items large letter post for 1.50. All packaging used will have been recycled. Thanks
