This gunmetal fitting has clearly never been used. Water stained only.Given the possible source this gauge cock may well be as fitted to a Southern Railway locomotive. The only marking on it states ‘Tested’. The unmachined flange (1/2″ thick) is 4 1/2 “dia. From the rear of the flange to the centre of the gauge glass position is 4″.. The gauge glass hole is 3/4″ dia.. From the rear of the flange to the centre line of the handle is 2 1/2”. Heavy.
