Steam In The Fells

 

A major feature looking at steam at work from the 1960’s right through to the present day on the Settle and Carlisle and the route via Shap.

 

This section comprises:

 

– Steam at work on the line from Tebay to Shap during 1986/7. Including… Brittania’s, 9Fs, Black 5’s, Fowler, 2-6-4’s, Moguls.

 

– A look at the line from Carnforth to Shap – it’s gradients, history and present day development.

 

– A brief look at steam on the Settle and Carlisle in 1967, featuring Black 5’s and 9F’s.

 

– A comprehensive portrait of steam working over the Carnforth to Settle, and Settle to Carlisle lines in the early 1980’s. Features a wide variety of locomotives including 60009 and ‘Lord Nelson’. (All unpublished footage).

‘Drysllwyn Castle’ and her last run on the main line during March 1987. Includes archive footage of ‘Castles’ at work in the 50’s and 60’s.

A detailed and thorough look at 6201 ‘Princess Elizabeth’s’ runs on the main line during March and April 1987. Includes extensive coverage of 6201’s eventful climb to Ais Gill on the 14th March.

This video has been tested and is in fair to poor condition. The picture has some interference throughout but remains watchable. As a result, this has been listed at a lower than usual starting price. The case and sleeve are in very good condition overall, except where some writing has been crossed out on the spine and back of the sleeve.
