The pin badge was used a couple times to promote the start of the Thameslink Programme with the starting with the Moorgate branch line closure in 2009. As part of the management team this programme was a big thing with the changes to Farringdon and Blackfriars stations. A new station for West Hampstead Thameslink, new dedicated platforms for the Thameslink route at London Bridge, new 12 car fix formation trains and the new through route from the Great Northern route to Gatwick Airport, Brighton and the southeast of London.
