Moorhouse Sandpits was established in the 1930’s and has taken its sand fromthe Moorhouse Bank. It remains privately owned by the owners of the Titsey Estate.This view is looking towards the East Working face of pit in the deposits knownas the Folkestone Beds. The sand is current-bedded and free from iron stain.The benches on the working face are a usual method of developing the pit.CONDITION: Excellent clean & unmarked save for photographers stampand identification details neatly written in hand to reverse (see scan).
