UNION PACIFIC FAIRBANKS MORSE 16L371 8-1950 DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE PLATE H16-44 #1341. Up for bid is a very nice, and hard to come by, early diesel locomotive builder’s plate from the Union Pacific. This is a Fairbanks Morse 16L371 from August 1950 off of H16-44 engine #1341. Plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or re-welds, about 8 7/8″ wide, and is made of BRASS. Believe there were only 3 of these units made for the UP, so it is a scarce one. Last photo shows an example of one of these units. Early diesel plates are getting popular and harder to come by, and this would make a wonderful addition for the UP collector or plate enthusiast!
