VINTAGE BRITISH RAIL (SOUTHERN REGION) WELCH PATENT LAMP SPARES OR REPAIROffered here is a Vintage British Rail (Southern Region) Lamp, has a BR(S) metal sign on the top, was made by the Lamp Manufacturing & Railway Supplies Ltd, London, Sole Owners & Manufacturers Welch Patent, I think this was powered by either Paraffin or Metholated Spirits as it has a Tank in the base and the burner with wick, it is quite greasy and dirty and has minor damage, the handle has come away one side, on the bottom edge some of the metal has broken off and some is bent in slightly, the piece of clear glass in the back of the light is ill fitting and really needs replacing but its only a square piece of clear glass, it is 30 cm high 14 cm wide x 22 deep, lens is 12.5 cm in diameter, lens is undamaged (all sizes approximate) (see condition report above).
