LOCATION:YorkShedDATE: 20th November1966SUBJECT: Takenduring the visit to York roundhouse as part of the William Deacons BankClub Rail Tour seen inside the shed are an unidentified V2 and K1 class engines out of steam and some BR diesel shunters inthe background.Behind motive power solelyprovided by Merchant Navy class No. 35026 Lamport & Holt Line, the tourran from Manchester Piccadilly Sheffield Doncaster York Manchester Victoria,using route code 1X36 throughout.The empty stock came into Piccadillyfrom Longsight direction into the through platforms at the side of the station(13 & 14) and set off in the direction of Manchester Oxford Road. Somewherenear Rotherham, seen in storage were the 7 no. Midland 1F half cabs that had recentlywithdrawn from their duties at Staveley Iron & Steel Works. At Doncaster theWorks were visited, but there were no steam locos present. At York the workingsteam shed was visited, firstly the sheds (the present NRM) and then theMuseum, then on its former site. The celebrity loco on shed was 60019 Bittern,newly-outshopped and already privately-owned. CONDITION: Excellent clean and unmarked save for identificationdetails hand written to reverse (see scan).  PHOTOGRAPHER: Unknown.TYPE: Unbordered approx.(5.0 x 3.0)” b & w matt finish photograph.All my photographs and postcards are tissuepaper-wrapped and supported between stiff cardboard or plastic laminate formaximum protection via the post – see previous good Feedback from earlierbuyers of my vintage postcards and photographs.
