An original set of 4 rare lead-filled nickel (white metal) harness studs from the bridle of a railway goods depot or parcel delivery horse in the Glasgow area. Each has the initials L.M.&S. Ry. Co. , surrounding a crest, not of the LMS but of the old Glasgow & South Western Railway (1850-1923), with the crown and trident etc. Possibly date from the amalgamation of the G&SWR into the LMS in 1923.Very worn condition from use on the bridle, as shown in the photos. Size of each 1 x 7/8 inches (26 x 22mm).
